Yesterday Georgian wine expo started at the bank of river Ljubljanica in Ljubljana. Vladimer Boisa informed us with this interesting event. I accidentally met him at the river bank with his wife. I heard a shout in Ljubljana: “Georgia, Sokhumi, Tengo!” I looked behind and saw Vova Boisa who I met at Georgia-Spain game in Celje on 9 September. Vova told me he was in a hurry to attend the games of EuroBasket but he took me to that river bank where Georgian wine expo was taking place. It took 5 minutes to get to the place where Aleksandre Chkuaseli, acting ambassador of Georgia in Slovenia, greeted us. He told us that by the initiative of the mayor of Ljubljana, wine expo of EuroBasket participant countries has started in the city. On 14 September this event started by a two-day expo of Georgian and Spanish wine. Other participant countries of EuroBasket will join the expo in the next days. Our wine expo is held with the support of Georgian Embassy. One of the Slovenian companies purchased Georgian wine and presented it on today’s expo. Wine testing is free and purchase – is not. A lot of Slovenians and tourists visited our stalls for half an hour and some of them even bought it.

We talked to Aleksandre Chkuaseli, acting ambassador of Georgia in Slovenia, who attended the games of the Georgian national team in Celje and supported our team. According to him, a lot of people in Slovenia like Georgia.

We feel it in Ljubljana every day. This city is twinned with Tbilisi since 1977. Slovenians really like Georgia. Many of them feel sorry for the Georgian national team that they could not make through to the next round. However, the Slovenians think our team deserved it…
