Georgian tennis player Anna Tatishvili is in Birmingham and will compete in Aegon Classic (235 000 USD). Anna opens grass season and will start preparation for “Wimbledon”.
Georgian top seed faces Francesca Schiavone of Italy who is No.15 seed at the British tournament.
If Tatishvili beats the Italian, she will play either Timea Babos of Hungary or one of the winners of the qualifying draw.
Anna participated in Aegon Classic last year but in the first round she lost to Melinda Czink of Hungary 6:7 (5:7), 6:3, 3:6. So, Anna does not have to defend points in England. In case of victory over Schiavone, the Georgian will earn 15 ranking points.
Tatishvili has 847 points and is in the 74th place on WTA ranking.
